With more and people telling me the Robuchon cookery instiitute plans are dead in the water, and the lack of replies to my question, I appear to have answered it myself.

Selflessly trawling the interweb just for you, I found this..

https://france3-regions.francetvinfo.fr/...l-robuchon

In addition I found two more stories from August, one from the highly regarded Agence France Presse, giving the same version of events.

I really hope someone can pull this project back from the brink because I think if it can go ahead it will be brilliant for the town and surrounding area.

In the meantime, I would get out more but can't because there now isn't a Robuchon restaurant to go to. Doh

The link isn’t working for me Admiral, but if it’s saying it isn’t going ahead I think it’s very disappointing, as it would have been a fantastic economical boost for the area and surrounding areas.

Sorry about that Jane.  It doesn't work for me eiither when clicking on it.  I really shouldn't be allowed near computers.

Basically the article is saying the scheme is NOT going ahead at the moment and the mayor of Montmorillon is quoted as saying it is "in abeyance" which is a lovely bit of politico speak for "I think it's finished but....something might happen."

Ho hum.

Maybe someone more computer savvy than an old fool like me can actually post some of the relevant links.  Maybe not if more inertia sets in. Doh

No worries  Big Grin It’s very sad for Montmorillon, but I suppose it was only ever going to happen because of Robuchon’s links to the area. I doubt they’ll find another top chef, with an abundance of cash and a connection to Monty, to step in and carry it on. Such a shame.

Thanks for the digging, Admiral.
It'll be very sad if it is cancelled. I really thought that with the amount of money Chinese investors has put in they would press ahead regardless.

I've found a recent article in Centre-Presse that suggests all is not lost, as one of the principal partners (Lausanne Hotel School) is still considering going ahead.
