Just for your info, all restaurants, pubs, bars and cafes in France were closed by the government on Saturday night.

We only found out the hard way by turning up for our booking at La Voulzie on Sunday to be told the news by a distraught owner who could only apologise and call the whole move a "catastrophe" for France. Angry

Feel sorry for all these family-run small businesses.

But, he did say tabacs would remain open.

Now, in my small mind, does a tabac in a bar/restaurant mean the grub menu is still on offer?

Answers please from those of you enterprising enough to find out. Huh

Bonsoir, just saw your post, bars, restos not allowed to open.Tabacs yes they're open but there are distances to be respected ie 1m,pharmacies letting in one at a time.Went to SuperU yesterday,in general not any different to usual although saw one or two being a bit caddy greedy with a few products so not quite like the shelf locusts in the UK.Sad days that will last a while I'm sure.

Thanks Clive for being awake.

Most of France seems to be in a coma induced by their usual hypochondria.

Went to Monty this Thursday.  Roads luvverly and clear.  Only about ten people in the supermarche and the shelves groaning with stock.  No sign of the French rozzers on the roads although I did take my attestation with me.  Like a good boy.

Went to the tabac opposite curious to see if they were still doing pizza/frites etc.  NO they are not. Rules

All very dull but hey ho, just get on with it. Thumb   if our parents and grandparents got through the war never knowing what was going to happen who are we to complain????
