Taxe Fonciere Advice Please

If anyone has been through this predicament I would be really grateful for some advice. We bought our property last November. We have a main house and a small house attached to it, plus various sheds and outbuildings. 
When we signed for the property the Notaire stated to us, that on that day he was changing the address from 2 separate addresses to just one address. Basically we have two houses now under one address.
Today we have just received our first Taxe Fonciere bill. On the bill they have put down the two houses as having different numbers, and totalled the bill for the two houses as one payment, although itemised individually on the bill. 
I sent them an email today, with the power of Google translate   and explained to them that the two houses have become one address. They then sent a form to be filled in and sent back...more dreaded paperwork, but I've been trying to fill this form in with no joy. It would appear that this form is for if you have had work done to make 2 houses become one, but we've had no work done. They are just two houses on the same land, but with one address. I just want to make sure we're not needlessly paying 2 Fonciere payments instead of one. 
Has anyone else had this issue on here? If so I would be interested to know how you got on. The form they have emailed is a H1. I'm in a right mess here with this one. I don't want to go and pay for something if we don't need to. So, if you have 2 houses joined, but known as one address, do you pay one, or two Fonciere payments?

It`s probably worth going to the tax office in Montmorillon, and explaining/asking there. My attempts with schoolgirl French only have always been met sympathetically.

Well it's an appropriate introduction to French bureaucracy.
If it were me I'd go and ask the notaire. He's more likely to give an accurate idear of where you stand than - most of us can only result offer opinions

We won't be going back before it needs paying. It has to be paid by October 17th I think. Not sure whether to just pay it and then sort it afterwards.

I would offer to pay it in monthly instalments. If you pay it all in one go it could be 1000 years before you get it sorted. Push them, they will accept monthly payments especially if you say you are not happy with the bill.

Also it's best to go into the Montmorilon office. They will speak English if you ask.

And I would then go back to your Notaire, it's their job to get it right. You have paid them for a service, so it is up to them to get it right.

I'll move this to Health, Social, Legal, Work, Finance for you, it may get other answers there.

I emailed the Notaire's office and was told the same advice you all gave me on here, haha. She more or less said that it doesn't matter if it's on the bill as two addresses, even though one no longer exists, but if we want it changing we can go into the tax office in Montmorillon. So the moral of the story folks is shut up, and pay up. We still pay for two houses. Was worth checking though.
