Internet providers..?

I am getting fed up with the people who supply our internet - the connection keeps flipping out and the charges keep getting higher and higher.

We are now paying an average of €40 to €45 a month for internet and "free" calls to Angleterre a month.  They're obviously not free because we pay a flat rate for them within that cost.

This is on top of the France Telecom rental for the land line.  

Can anyone out there in Montyland recommend a more reliable and cheaper internet provider than our current bunch of charalatans?  They have to be reliable and not supply dodgy modems that pack-up at the faintest sniff of a storm.

I don't know who you're with but we've found Orange to be tolerable. There are deals available for less than €30 per month if you make a fuss on their English speaking help line on 09 69 36 39 00.

Several people have mentioned Orange as "just about usable" and certainly -on the face of it - cheaper than Teleconnect who we're with.  Hopefully more reliable too.

Presumably, if your landline is with France Telecom they would do an all inclusive package?  Or am I still being too Anglais and living in the land of make-believe?

I have found Orange to be pretty reliable - if something goes wrong they give you a time when an engineer will call - usually within 2 days.
We have internet and internet phone from them, so there's no need to rent a traditional landline as such. The only downside is that you can't use the phone if there's a power cut.

They do some good packages for internet and mobile phone as well.
