New rule comes out this month and all Motorcyclists must wear gloves in France. This includes passengers and all types of motorcycle, quads, etc.

The rule comes into play from the 20th November. You have been warned, the Gendarme's obviously need more money for their xmas party.

Thanks for the warning, Fred.
I find it astonishing that anyone would ride a bike without gloves but you do see quite a few. Going into Montmorillon this summer on my bike I was overtaken by a bike ridden by someone wearing trainers, shorts and a t-shirt. He did have a helmet on though...

I remember the days you could ride without a crash helmet. I soon learnt it was wise to have one after a lucky escape and a bonce full of gravel rash.

It's been a long time since I had a bike but I remember how cold your hands could get even in the summer, though I do think this is another  money grabbing exercise like the breathalyser and high vis jackets.

And how can you smoke your Gitanes or hold on to your Baguette with gloves on? I can imagine we're going to see some very funny sights from some of the local Mobylette Angels around here with their fingerless mittens.
