Chickens

Hello again,

Does anyone out there know where we could buy some chickens? (non frozen) as we would like to have some for eegs and possibly some for meat birds.

Yes we used to get ours from the Florist Shop in Lathus on the high street near the post office, (yes i did say the Florist) you go and order them and she will tell you when they will be there for collection. Always found hers to be the best quality, they take a little while to get going but if you go for the common brown ones you will get one egg per day from each easy.

Or if you are sure you won't be tempted to buy a Donkey or 10 Baby Geese    You will find a lot of selection at Les Herolles market 29th of each month (if it's sunday it moves to monday.) The animals are at the top end of the market and that's the first entrance. Be warned it's massive with around 400 stalls. I found their chickens OK but you will need to look at all the stalls to see the best, and watch out for what they actually put in the box we got home once and found one only had half a beak.
