Chickens

Many thanks to all concerned for the info. We found out the other day from our French nieghbour (arent there a lot of those here?) that we can buy chicks and chickens from France Rurale which, as it happens is just around the corner from us and they are around €2 to €3 a bird depending on it's age. So another place to go and pick up birds  

That's a good price Stuart is that the price for eating birds or layers? We paid €7 but they were starting to lay.
