Blimey Fred. That was a result and a half to say the least. 
My last encounter with Orange was hideously painful and led to all sorts of confusion with them sending me all the wrong paper work instead of the stuff I had requested. Which led to a late payment fine which was the one thing I was trying to avoid when I contacted them to point out their initial mistake.
Are you sure you weren't talking to Orange (fill in country name) where they understand what service means?
