It's not going to help me very much, I suspect, as I submit my readings to Soregies for each bill and have power usage meters on devices that I know can prove expensive, but I don't seem to have a choice!

Does anyone have any experience with Linky meters that they could share, whether reassuring or terrifying? I can cope...

Not direct but people I know and who share my suspicions of utility companies say Linky is yet another way of sneaking more money from consumers. And in a dishonest way by sellng the idea that it will cut bills.

Hi y'all

Some feed back below:

I had Linky installed 18 months ago in Lussac /chateau , no issue, same price (they change it , it is free and there is no impact on the electricity bill),
It is not mandatory BUT if you reject the installation they will charge a fixed price  once a year to have a guy checking out  the number on your "old" meter. (about 50 €$)

PROS: You can monitor your hourly/daily/monthly use of electricity from your computer/ cell phone (would be glad to insert screen copies but i do not know how to do it here !)
: You do not need to be at home in between 9:00 AM until  17:00 waiting for the guy who will show up (and eventually won't come Angry ) the Linky box sends the information to Soregies (or EDF) either daily or monthly (the choice is yours )
: You can figure out at what time of the day you are using power and adjust it (I invested in a few programmers) : i was able to decrease my bill (in KWh) by about 10 %

CONS: so far none ...

all this AMHO  Smile

Mike
