It's not far from the station to town, but as for walking it I'm not sure myself.

The Renault Garage does rentals, but the Leclerc supermarket is the cheapest. A basic Fiat Panda is €5 per day and an additional 12 Cts per Kilometre. They do hire others but I'm not sure of the pricing.
