Hello. I wondered if anyone had experience of the Transport a la Demande service? I want to move to the area and one of the draws is this service, which means, hopefully, that I won't have to drive too often.

EDIT by Fred: Here is the link to their website: https://www.lavienne86.fr/70-tad-latrimouille.htm

Hiya and welcome to the forum.

Sorry. But I've never even heard of this "service." Huh

If you can give some clues as to what it is, I can mobilise my team of inquisitive pixies to begin their extensive research in the highways and back alleys of the area quizzing the locals etc...Thumb

Or is it simply; you ring for a bus at say, 1130 on Tuesday and voila! it appears outside your house.....Whistle

Hi Admiral, thanks for your reply.

The forum won't let me post weblinks yet, but if you google 'transport a la demande la trimouille' the Vienne web page should come up.

It appears to offer a fairly comprehensive service and strikes me as a nice, companionable way to get around without the hassle of driving/parking.

If your contacts do know anything about it, I'd be really grateful. It's windy and dim in London, hope it's lovely in Montmorillon!wave

My highly-trained army are mobilised and seeking information. Thanks for the info and steering me to the website. It's typically French - i.e. rubbish but there is the odd nugget of information lurking within it's appalling lay-out.

Just €15 to Poitiers....eek...an absolute bargain. I know some poor soul who paid €90 EACH way for a taxi ride from Saulge to Poitiers..

By the way....the weather here is much better than London. I only know that because Madame Admiral is there at present.

Bonne chance...wave

It's a measure against spammers so please don't take it personal. Now you have made 5 posts you should be able to post links. Thumb

*I have made an edit to your first post to include the link.

Fred.

P.S I'll leave Admiral's secret gang to update, as I know no more than what I've just read on their website. But it does look good value to me with this example: €2.50 return to Les Hérolles market that is held every 29th of the month, departs at 9am and returns at 2pm if I read it right.

Thanks Fred, no offence taken. I just wrote it so people won't think I'm too dim/lazy to copy and paste. It does look like a good service and if it turns out to be it as efficient as it seems I'll be over to La Trimouille next year to start looking at houses.france

Thanks for that very useful post Duquet and to Fred for the link! I was told there were no bus services at all from La Trimouille to anywhere! Thumb

Molly, you're very welcome. I don't think Admiral's elves have come up with any answers yet but I'm sure he'll post when they do.
