Does anyone know what the Giant Scarecrow is about that is situated just off the new ring road?

I've been meaning to take a picture for a long time, but keep forgetting my camera but I had it with me the other day.

Just wondered if anyone new what it was about?

It marks the entrance to an enterprise that makes fence panels out of what looks like scrub heather stems........super thick and sturdy, ideal for garde fencing. It`s fascinating to watch an enormous machine tht bale/knits the panels. the scarecrow is built from this same material.

Thank you Little Al. Would you know how much they cost, or can we just go up there and ask?

Not too sure.........I went with a friend about 18 months ago........ I seem to think around the 12 e mark?? Differing heights available. There wasn`t any sign of an "office", so we went to the tallest building and 2 blokes were working on the machine. Brilliant to watch! French needed though.

Whereabouts is this scarecrow? I know nothing of a new ring road and must be driving around with my eyes closed to miss something that size.
Mind you, that could explain the dents on my car...

The ring road has been open at least a couple of years.........from the roundabout nearest to Super U, and brings you fairly near the abattoir and the quarry, on the road to Lathus. As you drive in that direction (ie from SuperU to Lathus), the scarcrow can be seen on the right, about a field away from the road.
