Has anyone else had a similar problem with their car remote failing to lock or unlock when parking around the tourist information building in the main square in Montmorillon.
We have owned our car from new for almost 6 years and last September when we were here this problem arose. So when we got back to the UK, we had the battery changed as the garage seemed to think that this was the likely cause.
We were in Montmorillon last night and the same thing happened,  however we also had our second remote with us which also failed to work.
Has anyone had a similar problem?
Many thanks
Annette and Andy

That's odd, does it work ok elsewhere for example away from the tourist information building?

I'm wondering if it's just something there that is interfering with it. Process of elimination .................... if it works say up at Leclerc then it's a problem in the area of the Market Square and I would imagine the Mayor or Tourist Information would like to know about it. If you still get a problem elsewhere then it's a fault with your car.

I don't know much about car remotes myself as my car only has a key and that is a bit bent. Big Grin

I hope someone else will have answer, and please do update this thread if you do find the solution.

Thanks for your reply Fred, and it certainly works fine again now.  We are going back to blighty  at sully o'clock in the morning,  returning in 3 weeks time. So we will certainly make the tourist office aware

A grease monkey friend tells me that if it ain't the battery on the remore, then the problem is probably too strong a Wifi signal in and near the main square.

It will, he assures me, interfere with some remotes.  That's all I know.  He might be wrong.

Funny old world.  A few years ago people were crying out for Wifi in Montmorillon and now..................... Doh

Interesting Admiral, thank you.

It could still be worth mentioning it to the Mayor or Tourist Information Annette and Andy as they may not know it's happening.

I still live in the stone age and have a bent key to work my car, be interesting to know if others have had the problem as it could just be your make of car.
