@Clubby your mention of Storage Facility would be a good one I have often heard of people looking for temporary dry storage, also a lot of camping car and caravan people need somewhere secure to park up over winter.

@Brian Love the guitar string machine, what a great find, is there one that does plectrums too.  Big Grin

@Admiral A draft beer vending machine would never be able to hold enough for you.

Brian I don't know if it's of any interest to you but I noticed Guitar Strings for sale at Cultura in Poitiers.

And they have them on their website: https://www.cultura.com/instruments-de-m...ordes.html

Surely once the Robuchon institute gets up and running, then all businesses will be better placed. With over 500 students in year 1, over 8oo in year 2 and from year 3 thereafter, 1200 (plus their families/visitors), then i think a centrally placed wine bar serving simple tapas (cheese platter/ charcuterie/ feta and olives etc) would be in demand.........would need the facility for tables "on view", say overlooking either the river or the main square. Food preparation could be minimal, so no huge kitchen area needed. There would be demand already I think, especially "in season", but certainly once the Institute de gastronomie opens.

Thanks for that, Fred. I have bought strings from Cultura in Limoges - they have a reasonable selection but not as good as the Poitiers machine.

However, I now dare not show my face in Cultura music department.
I went there to buy a small amplifier (the 50watt Fender being too lound for home use).
I browsed the display and then, wishing to try a couple before buying one, approached the counter where I spoke with all the confidence of a "rosbif imbecile":
"Bonjour monsieur. J'aimerais essuyer des amplis - le Yamaha et le Marshall, celui-la".
Not surprisingly, he looked baffled. By using mime as well as speech, I eventually made him understand that I actually wanted to "essayer" the amplifier.

I did not realise my mistake until I was walking out of the shop, amplifier under my arm. That reminds me, I must buy some cleaning cloths...
