The government website gives dates for schools to reopen, but not for restaurants etc. Nor for the end of the travel restrictions and curfew.

France will be open for business from 1st July - no suprise there then. Whether or not its "safe " depends on your point of view- the latest incidence rate in the Vienne is 195.5 v approx 23 in UK. To those who don't believe C19 is serious or that vaccination is necessary please go spend your holidays in India. The problem in travelling will be returning to UK and quarantine. The european C19 passport is not just a vaccination passport - travel will be possible if you have had C19, can provide a negative test or are vaccinated ( i would suggest some need to read some SCIENCE around vaccination and transmission as opposed to magic myth)
As for M le President "bonaparte " is mild compared to what my farming neighbours call him.

We've had our first vaccine, myself and the other half, but don't agree with forcing people to do anything they don't want to do. Our 32 year old son will not have it. Our 29 year old daughter has had hers, through her job. It's personal choice in our opinion.
Having said that, we've not made any plans to come over this year so far, as everything just feels so unpredictable.
We have a lovely French bloke doing our garden and we are really grateful for that. We've just enlisted another great guy from a local town, who is due to start removing the rendering from our house and re pointing it. We've just had to find ways to enable these things to still go ahead. We haven't liked leaving the houses empty and long to come over, but will just have to wait we think. We are fortunate to be in touch with lovely people in the village.  If we miss this year it's not the end of the world I suppose. I just feel really lucky to have made it through this pandemic unscathed as many haven't and it's really terrible.

I suppose if you don't feel safe you should stay home.
Not a problem travelling as you have a right to return to the country you reside in, regardless of your Covid19 Status.
I really feel for those who live in such fear.
